We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help improve the Bonnechere River Trail (BTR) this fall.
The BTR opened in 2025, but we continue to make adjustments and improvements to the trail based on user feedback There are various tasks to be completed for a variety of skill levels, such as Placing log steps, Building a section of boardwalk, Vegetation trimming, and Path leveling.
Join us for our Work Days on:
- Thursday September 10 - 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm
- Saturday September 19 - 9 am - 12 pm
- Thursday September 26 - 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm
- * Work days may be canceled or re-scheduled if weather conditions are deemed to be dangerous. Work will proceed in light rain.
Work days are drop-in style. No registration is required. The meeting location is at the Bonnechere River Trail Head located at 390 Forestview Crescent. There is parking next to the pumping station or on the street. Children under 14 are welcome if accompanied by an adult. The Trail has a moderate difficulty rating, with sections of steep hills and uneven terrain, please wear appropriate footwear.
Items to bring:
- Sturdy closed toed shoes/boots and Long pants
- Long sleeves and a hat/sunscreen are recommended
- Drinking Water (we will have extra)
- Tools such as shovels, hoes, rakes, pruners, pails (we will have some extra tools available)
- Work gloves (we will have extras available)
- Volunteer sign off form (for high school students completing their mandated volunteer hours)
