The non-residential recycling program is managed by the Town of Renfrew, however closely matches the residential recycling program.
In order to take advantage of the non-residential curbside recycling collection service, businesses must meet the collection standards and limits as set out in the waste management by-law which includes the following requirements & limitations:
- Curbside recycling for Businesses and Community Organizations occurs on Fridays.
- Place recycling at the curbside after 6 p.m. the night before collection or before 7 a.m. on the day of collection. Collection can occur as early as 7 a.m. and collection times may vary without notice.
- Curbside means within arms length of the curb, sidewalk or roadside.
- Maximum bluebox size is 90 L and cannot weigh more than 50 lbs when full.
- 8 bin limit (or equivalent recyclable volume) for non-residential properties.
- Cardboard must be broken down and loose in a blue bin or bundled no larger then 2'x2'x2'.
- Do not overfill bins.
- Recycling in clear bags is not accepted except for fine shredded paper.
- Do not place bins in or on top of snow banks or in such a way as as to block sidewalk access.
- Empty bins must be removed from the curb by dusk on the day of collection
- Properties remain responsible for their material until it is collected by the contractor
- Businesses may use a standard recycling bin which are available for purchase at many retailers locally (e.g., hardware store) provided that the bin is no larger than 90 liters in capacity.

Recycling may be brought to the Renfrew Landfill for no charge provided that it is sorted and cardboard is broken down. Please let he landfill attendant know that your recycling is from a business or community organization. See the landfill section for more details.
