The Millennium Trail in Renfrew is 3.4 kilometers long and runs along the old CN train tracks from Barnet Boulevard to Lisgar Street. The trail is suitable for walkers, joggers, wheelchairs, bicycles, bird watching, cross country skiing and snowmobiling in the winter. The trail has benches and picnic tables for rest stops and provides a safe, scenic atmosphere in which to stay fit, for young and old alike. The Millennium Trail is just one of the many nature trails and hiking trails you can find in Renfrew.
The trail system at Ma-te-Way Park is used all season by those walking, running, cycling, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. The recreational trail is 2.5 kilometers in length and located directly behind the recreation complex. The trail loops around the sliding hill at Ma-te-Way Park.
The 296km Ottawa Valley Recreational Trail is a multi-use corridor that stretches from near Smiths Falls to just shy of Mattawa, passing through Lanark County, Renfrew County (where it is also known as the Algonquin Trail) and Papineau-Cameron Township. The trail runs through the Town of Renfrew crossing O'Brien Road, Hall Avenue, Plaunt Street South, Raglan Street North and the Bonnechere River. The trail is open year round for pedestrian and multi-use.
The K&P Trail follows the historical Kingston to Pembroke rail corridor. Today, the K&P trail is a multi-use trail that stretches 180 km from Renfrew to Kingston and in Renfrew connects with the Algonquin trail. The K&P is managed by various municipalities including the County of Renfrew, Township of Lanark Highlands, County of Frontenac, and City of Kingston.
The Bonnechere River Hiking trail is located at 390 Forestview Crescent. The Trail is a moderate difficulty hiking trail following the south shore of the Bonnechere River. A total of 1.2 km of trail is available and the trail is primarily an out and back trail. The trail is described as a wilderness trail with elevation changes and uneven tread resulting in a moderate difficulty, please wear appropriate footwear.
