Yesterday evening, the Town of Renfrew and the Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA) were notified of a watermain break on Bonnechere Street South and Renfrew Avenue West.
Crews were dispatched immediately to assess the situation and isolate the affected area. Following investigation, the issue was identified as a broken hydrant lead at the corner of Bonnechere Street South and Renfrew Avenue West.
Town of Renfrew Public Works staff, Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA) crews, and RCI personnel worked through the night to repair the break and minimize any potential damage to infrastructure. The Town is grateful for their dedication and efforts in resolving this issue as quickly and safely as possible.
All roads are now open. Public Works crews remain on Bonnechere Street South and Renfrew Avenue West, salting and working to reduce ice buildup caused by the excess water. Motorists and pedestrians are advised to exercise caution in the area, as road conditions may be slippery.
We thank residents for their patience and understanding while crews completed the repairs. Municipal operations have returned to normal.
