The Town of Renfrew is pleased to announce the appointment of Cara Lemkay as its new Director of Community & Recreation Services. Originally from Whitewater Region, Cara brings more than 10 years of experience in parks, recreation, and community services. Throughout her career, she has worked with rural municipalities across Eastern Ontario, building extensive expertise in recreation programming, facility management, community development, and municipal operations.

In addition to her municipal experience, Cara has worked as a recreation consultant and college professor, further strengthening her knowledge and leadership within the sector.

Cara will officially begin her role with the Town of Renfrew on Monday, June 22, 2026. She will lead the Community & Recreation Services Department, supporting the delivery of high-quality programs, services, and facilities for residents while exploring opportunities to further enhance recreation and community services throughout the community.

The Town of Renfrew welcomes Cara to the organization and looks forward to the experience, leadership, and enthusiasm she will bring to the role.
