Election Dates, Times & Locations

Voting in the 2026 Municipal Election will be conducted on the following dates, times, and locations.

Notice is hereby given to the electors of the Town of Renfrew that voting in the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election will be conducted on the following dates and at the following locations and times:

Eligibility Criteria to Vote 

In accordance with Section 17(2) of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996, a person is entitled to be an elector at an election held in a local municipality if, on voting day, they: 

  • Reside in the local municipality (Town of Renfrew), or are the owner or tenant of land in the municipality, or are the spouse of such owner or tenant; 
  • Are a Canadian citizen; 
  • Are at least 18 years old; and 
  • Are not otherwise prohibited from voting by law. 

     

Voting Process 

Eligible electors should expect to receive a Voter Information Letter (VIL) during the week of October 6 to 9, 2026. The VIL contains important information about the election, including the credentials required to access the online voting system and information regarding in-person voting opportunities. Electors who have not received their VIL by October 13, 2026, should contact the Town Hall Office for assistance.

 

Online Voting

During the voting period, eligible electors may vote electronically using a computer, tablet, or smartphone.

Technical assistance will be available throughout the voting period by contacting the Town Hall Office at 613-432-4848 during regular business hours, Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

 

Voting Accessibility and Assistance

Town Hall, located at 127 Raglan Street South, is fully accessible, with designated accessible parking available off Plaunt Street, an accessible ramp entrance, and elevator access to the second floor.

Electors requiring additional voting accommodations are encouraged to contact the Town Hall Office in advance.
