PUBLIC NOTICE - Commemorative Naming Request for Local Park
The Town of Renfrew Clerk’s Department has received a written request from the family of the late Mack Wilson to name a park in the Hunter Gate subdivision after the Renfrew developer.

The Corporation of the Town of Renfrew herby gives notice of the commemorative naming request for a local park. The Town of Renfrew Clerk’s Department received a written request from the family of the late Mack Wilson to name a park in the Hunter Gate subdivision after the Renfrew developer. The letter highlights some of Mr. Wilson’s contributions to the Town of Renfrew including (but not limited to): the building and management of hundreds of commercial and residential rental units, development of multiple subdivisions, support of local businesses to support his developments, and serving 25 years on the Industrial Commission that attracted industry. After reviewing the correspondence from the Wilson family, staff acknowledge the criteria provided aligns with the Commemorative Naming Policy requirements. At the Corporate Services and Economic Development Committee on August 25th, 2023, staff were directed to provide public notice of the commemorative naming request for Mack Wilson. Following public notice, a report will be prepared for Committee and Council approval, including final wording of the commemorative name to be applied.
