Notice of Public Information Centre (PIC) Town of Renfrew O’Brien Road (Highway 60) Reconstruction

The Public Information Centre is being held at the Renfrew Visitor Information Centre at 190 Mask Road on Wednesday, September 27th, 2023 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
INTRODUCTION
The Town of Renfrew has retained Jp2g Consultants Inc. and BT Engineering Inc. to design the reconstruction of O’Brien Road (Highway 60), from Mask Road to Wrangler Road. The project is being completed with financial contributions through the MTO’s Connecting Link funding program. The improvements will be in accordance with the recommendations of the previously completed Hall Avenue Environmental Assessment (EA) Study (2015), and the Master Transportation Plan (MTP) Study (2022) which will include a roundabout at Innovation Drive/Wrangler Road/O’Brien Road intersection. The construction is scheduled to take place in 2024,in order to comply with the requirements of MTO’s funding program
STUDY PROCESS
The roundabout at Wrangler Road/Innovation Drive/O’Brien Road (Highway 60) received environmental clearance from the Hall Avenue EA Study (2015). Projects that involve localized operational improvements and/or the construction of intersections and roundabouts within the existing right-of-way are exempt from the Municipal Class EA (2023) process. As such, formalized public consultation is not required; however, the Town is still going ahead and presenting the preliminary design to the public for comments.

The Town wants to ensure that anyone with interest in the projects has the opportunity to provide input. An in-person PIC is being held as follows:

As this information is collected for the purpose of a public record, the protection of personal information provided in the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) does not apply (S.37).
