Established in the 1950s, the Renfrew Industrial Commission (RIC) took a giant leap forward in 1992 when the Ontario Government injected $2.45 million into the community. The goal of this unique program was to refill vacant plants, stimulate existing businesses and attract new ones to the area. The program turned out to be a resounding success and has had a ripple effect over the last 20 years.
Ottawa Valley Economic Development Partners Group (OVED) represents Renfrew County’s 17 municipalities, Algonquin College, the City of Pembroke, as well as provincial and federal government departments. We work together to promote and encourage economic growth in the Ottawa Valley.
The Renfrew Business Improvement Area (BIA) goal is to maintain and enhance the overall appeal and accessibility of Renfrew’s historic downtown.

Enterprise Renfrew County (ERC) has been operating in Renfrew since 1988 and was formerly known as the Renfrew County Business Self-Help Office. Our mandate is to encourage and contribute to the enterprising spirit and economic development of the County by assisting entrepreneurs with the development of new or existing companies.
